How to get here and where to stay

Here’s everything you need to plan your journey to Agroecology Europe Forum – recommended transport options, accommodation and other helpful tips for navigating Malmö.

Lokstallarna The venue for Malmö 2025

This years venue is located at Lokstallarna in Kirseberg. Lokstallarna means “the locomotion depots” in swedish and was historically used as a depot for trains.

Today, the location hosts various companies working with food, entertainment and much more.

Getting There

It is easy to get to Malmö!

Malmö is a city well connected with trains from all around Sweden as well as from Europe. We encourage participants to stay on the ground and preferably travel by train. Here is a guide for you: 

Train


from the south...

 

The main train station in Malmö is called “Malmö C” or “Malmo C”.

To get here from the south, the easiest way is to travel with train through Hamburg and Copenhagen. 

Tickets from Hamburg to Malmö can be bought through Deutsche Bahn (DB)

Tickets from Hamburg to Copenhagen can be bought through DSB. Then you can buy a ticket to Malmö either on a ticket machine at Copenhagen central station, or through the regional public transport app Skånetrafiken. Follow the button to get to the website and download the app on your phone. From Copenhagen the trains to Malmö depart every 30 minutes. This app is also necessary to be able to buy tickets for the public transport within Malmö.

If you’re departing from Stockholm, high-speed trains operated by SJ and Snälltåget run frequently between Stockholm Central Station and Malmö Central Station.

The train ride takes 5 hours. 

If you’re departing from Gothenburg, there is either the SJ train or Öresunds train departing frequently. The Öresunds train tickets can be bought through the Skånetrafiken app. A friendly advice, if you buy 2 or more tickets you get a 25% discount.

Night train

There are multiple night trains to Malmö. 

One option is to take the night train from Berlin till Malmö by taking Snälltåget, follow the button to find your trip. 

There is one night train from Hamburg to Malmö operated by SJ, follow the button to find your trip. 

Ferry

If you are traveling by bike or car, you can travel comfortably with ferry to Malmö or Trelleborg (32 km from Malmö). 

Ferries to Malmö from Travemünde (DE) are operated by Finnlines. 

Ferries to Trelleborg from Travemünde (DE), Rostock (DE), Świnoujście (POL), and Klaipėda (LIT) are operated by TT-Line.

Bus

From various locations one can take a Flixbus to Malmö.

Parking

There will be access to parking for cars and camping cars close to the venue. Parking prices are are not yet clear. 

Flying

The closest airports to Malmö are Copenhagen airport Kastrup or Malmö airport Sturup. We encourage you to stay in the ground and find other modes of transport.

Public transport

Use the Skånetrafiken app to get around Malmö and the region on Skåne.
